September Newsletter

On behalf of the PTA board, we would like to welcome you back for a successful 2010-2011 school year.  The Hampton PTA has three new board members this year; Sarah Kautz (President), Konni Stapf (Vice President), and Dina Kastner (Treasurer).  Trudy Fox (Secretary) returns for the final year of her term.  Please feel free to contact us at any time during the year with questions or ideas!  This year, we are going ‘green’ and will be sending as many PTA communications via email as possible.  Please note – for the remainder of the year, all PTA newsletters will be sent out via email.  If you would like to be on the list, please contact Lee in the office.

PTA is very important to Hampton School.  PTA holds various fundraisers throughout the year to support our students and teachers by purchasing items such as curriculum needs (reading, math programs), playground equipment, ELMO and smart boards, gym AV equipment, band instruments, teacher wish list needs, hosting school social events to encourage family togetherness, and enriching the lives of our students by sponsoring the annual Cultural Arts Day.  Please join PTA and become involved in your child’s future.  We need your support.

PTA Meeting – Monday October 4th @ 6:30pm The next PTA meeting of the year will be on Monday, October 4th at 6:30 at the school. If you wish to sign up for PTA but have not yet, you will be able to join at the meeting.  Membership is $5.00.  Child care is provided at each meeting.  Meetings last approx 30 minutes.

Scholastic Book Fair – September 22nd-24th 
 Hours are Wednesday 9-3, Thursday 9-3 & 6:30-7:30, Friday 9-11:30 

Open House – Thursday, September 23rd @ 6:30pm New this year!  The PTA will be hosting an ice cream social during open house.  The event is free.  We encourage all families to enjoy ice cream after you visit your children’s classroom.  We hope you can join us.

Basket Bingo – Saturday, September 25th @ 6:00pm doors open at 4:30, games start at 6pm.  Hampton Kids only, $5 discount.  Ticket request forms went home with your child this week, and additional copies are available in the office.  Your ticket includes game, meal, dessert, and drink.  50/50 and other raffles will be available during play.   

We are requesting donations of cans of pop.  Please bring cans of pop by Friday, September 24th (drop in Mr Berg’s office).  We are looking for volunteers to help make this event a huge success. This is our only fall fundraiser!  Please help make this a big one!  Please invite your family and friends to join us!

Milk Caps & Box Tops - Throughout the year, the Hampton PTA redeems Swiss Valley milk caps and Box Tops.  There may be prizes available for the classrooms who earn the most money.  Please save these items from your food products and send them to school with your child.
