HANDWASHING HYGIENE- Frequent and proper handwashing will be required throughout the day. The school will ensure availability of soap, water, towels for all students in all areas of the school building. Although soap and water are the first recommended line of defense, hand sanitizer will be provided throughout the school to be used when water is not available.
DRINKING FOUNTAINS- Drinking fountains will not be accessible because they are a high source of infection. Please supply your children with water from home or a bottle of water can be purchased through the Food Service
SOCIAL DISTANCING- Students will be encouraged to keep 6 feet apart from one another as much as possible. Class sizes, desk placement and staggering schedules will all contribute to our efforts to adhere to this CDC recommendation.
SYMPTOM AND TEMPERATURE CHECKS-Every student and staff member will be screened before entering the building in the morning. Any individual with a temp greater than 100.4 or any current symptoms of COVID-19, such as FEVER, COUGH, SHORTNESS OF BREATH OR DIFFICULTY BREATHING, CHILLS , FATIGUE, MUSCLE AND BODY ACHES, HEADACHES, SORE THROAT, NEW LOSS OF TASTE OR SMELL, CONGESTION OR RUNNY NOSE, NAUSEA, VOMITING, OR DIARRHEA, UNIDENTIFIED SKIN RASH, may not enter the school building and will have to go home. The same is true should symptoms occur during the day. If someone is seen to be exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19 or verbalizes a symptom, they will be immediately isolated from other students until an approved person (listed on emergency contact form) picks them up. Please note the expectation after parents have been notified that their child NEEDS TO BE PICKED UP IS 30 mins NOT TO EXCEED 60 mins. If the student has school age household members in the school, they will be sent home as well.
The student and other school aged household members will be asked to NOT return to school for a minimum of 10 days AND until they are fever and symptom free for 72 hours. This isolation period may be reduced if the student has 2 negative COVID-19 tests in a row with the testing completed AT LEAST 24 hours apart from each other. Educational services will be provided by the district during the absence of the student and school age household members.
When a student or a member of a student’s household receives a positive COVID-19 test or becomes ill with signs and symptoms of COVID-19, all members of the student’s household should enter a precautionary quarantine for a minimum of 14 calendar days from the date the original child’s fever/symptoms were recorded. If an untested student on a precautionary quarantine begins to show symptoms during their quarantine, the minimum 10 day isolation cycle referenced above should be followed, beginning with the first day the student becomes symptomatic. All household members must be afebrile (fever-free) and feeling well for 72 hours after the quarantine or isolation has expired, prior to the child or children can return to school. The district will take measures to provide educational services while the student (s) are in quarantine or isolation.
The school will internally investigate all circumstances surrounding a reported positive COVID-19 test affecting students and staff. Students and staff who are determined to have been in close contact with a person confirmed to be positive for COVID-19 will be required to enter the precautionary quarantine phase for a minimum of 14 calendar days. If a student begins to display symptoms while in quarantine, we ask you to notify the school as quickly as possible so additional contact tracing can be conducted. Educational services will be provided remotely per the district’s plan while the student (s) are in quarantine.
